Founded in 1972, Bodegas Lan lies in the heart of Rioja Alta and boasts one of the most spectacular single-vineyard sites in the region: Viña Lanciano. The Tempranillo and Mazuelo grapes are sourced from selected vineyards within the Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa subzones from vines with an average age of 30-40 years. These vines produce

lower yields of grapes with great concentration of flavour, which can stand up to extended periods of ageing in oak.

This wine is intense garnet in colour. Aromas of juicy plum, cherries and blackberries are married with notes of vanilla and spices from oak ageing and subtle earthy hints from bottle age. The palate is exceptionally well-structured, with velvety tannins and a vibrant

The Coto de Imaz Rioja Reserva is made from pure Tempranillo grapes sourced from carefully selected vineyards in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. The bush vines are aged between 35 to 55 years old and are low yielding, producing grapes with superb concentration of flavour balanced by vibrant acidity. Only the finest grapes are used in the Coto de Imaz wines. The wine was aged in new American oak barrels for 18 months before the final blend was assembled and bottled. After this, the wine was aged for a further 24 months in bottle before release. The Coto de Imaz Rioja Reserva is intense cherry in colour with a hint of ageing at the rim. On the nose, it has ripe red fruits accompanied by hints of cocoa from the new American oak. On the palate, the wine is velvety and round, with smooth tannins and good acidity. The finish is balanced and long.

The Finca Museum winery was the first project developed by the winemakers Grupo Barón de Ley (who own El Coto) outside of La Rioja. Committed to finding other top vineyards, they chose the appellation of Cigales where they could obtain a good quality/price relationship for their wines and perfectly ripened grapes thanks to the pebble covered soils here, home to vines over 70 years old. One of the few Reservas produced in Cigales, it is aged for 24 months in new French oak barrels during which time the wine is racked five times. Following this ageing, the wine stands in the bottle for 12 months before being released onto the market.

An intense and elegant red, combining the best aspects of a wise ageing process with the maximum fruity expressiveness of the Tempranillo. Toasted and roasted aromas embellish a ripe fruit which refreshes with hints of spice. It is complex and structured in the mouth, but also balanced and noble. 

Pruno was developed by the team at Finca Villacreces a few years ago with the intention of making a Ribera del Duero style that could be enjoyed earlier than their flagship red wine. Hailed as the best Spanish wine under $20 (per 75cl bottle) by Robert Parker 

'Pruno' is a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in second and third-year French oak barrels. Grapes are only taken from Finca Villacreces’ own vineyards, from slightly younger vines and Organic practises are used as much as possible. Pruno is deep, black cherry in colour. Aromas of red berry fruit and hints 

of toffee from French oak ageing give way to a fruit-driven palate. 

Notes of concentrated cherry fruit and liquorice, lead to a juicy finish.

Domaine de la Solitude Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a rich and opulent wine with ripe blackcurrant aromas layered with notes of the garrigue and cistus flowers. Full bodied but with a soft texture on the palate; this wine retains the estate's characteristic elegance whilst embracing a modern style of winemaking. Ripe fruits combine with notes of cocoa and cherry and a hint of liquorice on the finish. Grenache 50%, Syrah 25%, Mourvèdre 15%, Cinsault 10% - 91 pts, Robert Parker, 2021.

It's hard to find Chateauneuf in Magnums and this is a great example!

Situated next to Château Gruaud Larose, this estate possesses top class vineyards producing fruit worthy of Classified Growth status. Our old friend Francois Nony always produces wines of consistently high quality, and the critics are now showering great acclaim on this Château. We only have a few Magnums of these exceptional vintages left, don't miss out these are a real treat. Delicious aged Bordeaux Mags at a sensible price!

There aren’t many more sought after wines from South Africa than The Chocolate Block from Boekenhoutskloof. It is a blend of Syrah, Grenache Noir, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier. The nose is dense and brooding, yet opulent, with its compote of dark, ripe plums and blackberry and attractive whiffs of liquorice, violets, cocoa and mint. The black fruit and perfume of the nose follow through onto a rich, savoury palate with flavours of dark cherry, red currant, black olives and cured meat. Fine grained, svelte tannins are in perfect balance with the lemony acidity, lending complexity to the mid-palate. The wine is full-bodied with a rich, smooth mouthfeel. The finish is charry and long, with hints of maraschino cherry, pimento olives and sweet tobacco minerality which is sure to convince anyone who tries it.

In the innovative style of the Super-Tuscans, but at a fraction of their price, this is a very big bottle of 'Baby-Tuscan'. Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with a majority of the native Sangiovese to create a wine superior to its IGT classification.

Soft and intensely fruity, this wine combines the elegance and complexity given by oak-ageing with the fragrant, fresh fruit of a young wine. Soft on the palate with a smooth finish. Perfect for any occasion with the added big bottle "wow factor"!

Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay.

Charmes de Kirwan, the second estate wine, was introduced in 1993. The younger sibling of the wines of Château Kirwan, Charmes de Kirwan generally comes from the harvest of the vineyard’s younger vines, but it receives the same attention as the great growth.

This is the second wine of Chateau Kirwan and it has been returned to former glories in recent years. Charmes de Kirwan from the Margaux commune has a fruity, floral bouquet, supple and generous in the mouth and on the palate is full of ripe cassis and cherry flavours with a hint of spice on the smooth finish. it is made from a blend of the following  grape varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

Aristea Chardonnay 2018 - this latest iteration from Aristea is a more restrained, elegant beast than the first two vintages. Both nose & the start of the palate have a rich mix of fruits with some fleshy greengage & apricot on the mid palate the depth of flavour is balanced by tangerine and apple. Bright and fresh at the back the finish has vibrant length.

Aristea Pinot Noir 2019 – our Aristea Pinot Noir from Hemel-en-Aarde & comes from two

wonderful vineyards at the top of the valley. It is a delicately layered wine, with red fruit aromas of cranberry, raspberry, blackberry & slight hints of Turkish Delight on the nose.  Gentle black fruit down the middle, combine well with the velvety-soft tannins to give the wine a grippy backbone and long lingering finish.

Petit Cantenac is made with fruit with from our older Merlot, Cabernet Franc

and Cabernet Sauvignon vines. The colour of the wine shows a deep dark red and is marked by its’ beautiful Cabernet character, with fresh and lush rich notes of black plums, cassis, raspberry, figs, and fine leather, with hints of ginger and spice and soft vanillary new oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied with firm but carefully weighted tannins on the entry, which become more defined as the wine lingers in the mouth, with dense savoury and earthy characters leading towards a rounded, supple, blackberry and plum finish that displays good restraint and poise.

Situated next to Château Gruaud Larose, this estate possesses top class vineyards producing fruit worthy of Classified Growth status. Our old friend Francois Nony always produces wines of consistently high quality and he has once again excelled with his 2010 vintage, and the critics are now showering great acclaim on this Château. A delicious rich, raisiny bouquet, intense, powerful with a refreshing balance. 35% new oak. This wine offers a stunning complexity & our unique Big Bottles have to be the best way to serve it!

The colour of the wine shows a clean, bright and instantly appealing pale rose-petal pink, almost translucent, with intense and fragrant aromas of luscious wild strawberries, mandarin peel, grapefruit, citrus and red berries. On the palate it shows the same fine register of complex red summer berry and tropical fruit flavours, with hints of vanilla, a soft attack of smokiness and a savoury finish. It is a very seductive style of rosé, long, fresh and aromatic, yet perfectly balanced by the lovely refreshing acidity and a long persistent dry silky finish.  

Izadi owns 178 hectares and sources fruit from selected growers from another 108 hectares of old vineyard with an average age of 45 years. The vines are traditionally trained bush vines, a method which Izadi believes gives better exposure of the grapes, something which in turn leads to better ripeness and softer, fuller wines.

This wine displays beautiful black and red fruits with delicate hints of tobacco, liquorice and savoury earthy notes. The full bodied palate is rich & concentrated with a long finish.
